We're excited to announce Hackathon February 2024 taking place at SURF Incubator in Seattle, Washington.

This event is not just for developers, entrepreneurs, and people working in tech. If you’ve been inspired by the developments in AI and are ready to build something, then this event is for you!

Join us for an exciting day of innovation, learning, and collaboration as we push the boundaries of AI and explore its potential to transform industries and improve people's lives.

This event is made possible by our friends at SURF Incubator in partnership with Leaner Startups.

What to Expect

We'll kick off with a meet and greet to get acquainted with some of your potential team mates and the space you'll be working out of. Food and drinks will be available.

You'll start the day by forming a team with other participants - no prior team or idea needed! You'll brainstorm ideas for an AI product and then spend most of the day building a proof-of-concept. Keep in mind that all work on your project must be completed at the hackathon. At the end of the day, each team will present their project to a panel of judges, and there will be an awards ceremony to select the winners.

We will also be offering AI workshops to help your team better understand how to harness the power of AI in your projects.

In addition to networking with your peers, you'll have the opportunity to interact with Seattle and Bellevue's leading venture capitalists, people, and organizations who are working on the cutting edge of AI.

Afterwards, we'll be having an after party from 8-11PM to relax and celebrate another successful hackathon!

All projects must be completed at this time. The first round of presentations begins. Judges will send the winners to the final round.

It's time to show off your hard work! Finalists will present their solutions to a panel of judges and compete for prizes and recognition.

7:00 pm - Awards Ceremony and Networking

Celebrate the day's successes with a closing awards ceremony and networking session. Meet new people, exchange contact information, and continue the conversation beyond the hackathon.

8:00 pm - Event ends

The event will officially end at this time. We hope participants will leave inspired with new ideas and a better understanding of artificial intelligence.

After Party!!!

Enjoy Snacks, and Drinks while we unwind from a long weekend of hacking!

Judging Criteria

There will be two rounds of judging. The initial round will consist of a 3 minute pitch by every team in front of all attendees and judges. The judges will select the 5 best ideas to be promoted to the final round. In the final round, each team will have 5 minutes to answer the judges' questions and make any last impressions before the judges vote on the top 3 teams to win the hackathon.

Projects will be judged across 5 dimensions:

  • Is the idea innovative and creative, and does it address a real-world problem?
  • What is the potential market value of the solution, and is the business model viable, revenue-generating, and scalable?
  • What is the potential impact of the solution, including social, environmental, or economic impact?
  • How was the quality of the presentation and pitch of the solution, and how well can the team articulate the problem, solution, and value proposition?

The Space

The SURF incubator is a perfect space for this event, providing plenty of desks, conference rooms, and office space to spread out and work on your idea with your team.
